During your stay, a tour of the Gorges by car is a must: magnificent landscapes await you. A sporty hike at the bottom of the Grand Canyon or on the ridges for the more experienced will allow you perceive nature more closely as the ascent of Grand Margès by the GR99 Open to as many people as possible, a nautical activity will be just as enjoyable. To complete this exploration, a visit to our hilltop villages will allow you to discover the architecture and heritage of these small villages in the hinterland like Aiguines or Trigance.
Walks or short hikes are possible around these lakes such as the Mule trail at Sainte-Croix du Verdon or the Véris trail at Bauduen. Some routes can also be taken by bike or mountain bike like the MTB route "Vers Les Salles"
After all this effort, the beaches of Lake Sainte-Croix or Lake Artignosc will allow you to take a refreshing dip before perfecting your tan on their shaded banks.
If you have a little energy left, nautical rental companies can offer you any type of boat: canoe, kayak, paddles, pedal boats, electric boats ... for a small cruise on your own.

In terms of heritage, our 16 villages all contain small gems of interest to discover without moderation.
- Trigance - The Mill of Soleils - the last traditional flour-powered water mill in operation in the Var.
- Aiguines - The Col d'Illoire or Le Grand Margès and their panorama over the Verdon Gorges..

- Aups – The monument to the insurrection of 1851 - only 5 monuments dedicated to this event in France.
- Moissac-Bellevue – The Notre-Dame de la Roque chapel and its belvedere which offers a magnificent view of the plain that they overlook.
- Régusse – Windmills among the last traditional flour mills in the Var.
- Châteauvieux – The Saint-Pierre-en-Demueyes chapel in the middle of a clearing.
- La Martre – The Serre bridgeover the Artuby known as “Pont de Madame” from the 18th century Artuby.
- Brenon - the view of the Alps from the rock overlooking the village along the hiking trail: The Summit of Clare
- Le Bourguet - The Castrum de Bagarris medieval site of a fortified village destroyed in the 16th century.
Among these villages, Baudinard-sur-Verdon, Moissac-Bellevue, Régusse, Tourtour and Villecroze have received the label of flowered towns and villages; Tourtour is classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France; Aups and Villecroze are classified Villages of character in the Var.

You are in a privileged and protected place, thank you for respecting the regulations in force: Wild camping, in any form whatsoever (tent, caravaning ...) is prohibited on the banks of the lakes and in the gorges. Outside the areas where camping is regulated, you need the owner's authorization.
Practical information for the attention of motorhome operators: Parking for motorhomes is permitted only in equipped reception areas, in campsites and at accommodation providers. Warning: it is forbidden to empty your sewage system into the country side. Respect the natural environment.
We advise you to come by car so that you can explore our region in complete freedom.
You can also come by bus, taxi, train or plane. All the details can be found on the page "Reach us" .
The nearest airports are:
- Toulon – Hyères (1h20 from Aups / 1h40 from Aiguines / 1h50 from La Martre by car),
- Marseille Provence (1h40 from Aups / 2h00 from Aiguines / 2h20 from La Martre by car),
- Nice – Côte d’Azur (1h30 from Aups / 1h50 from Aiguines / 1h30 from La Martre by car)
The nearest stations are:
- Les Arcs - Draguignan" (45 minutes from Aups / 1 hour from Aiguines / 1 hour 10 minutes from La Martre by car).
- Aix-en-Provence TGV station (1h30mins from Aups / 1h45 from Aiguines / 2h10 from La Martre by car).

There are many car parks in our villages and almost all of them are free.
Please note, several municipalities have established blue zones: Remember to equip your vehicle with a parking disc.
In the Grand Canyon, since July 1st, a new reception area and a new car park are waiting for you at the Point Sublime - the latter is subject to a charge - find all the information here.
To complete this offer, the Parc du Verdon is opening a new car park closer to the Samson corridor and the river to facilitate parking for outdoor activities and leisure activities, with fixed daily rates.

Jumping into the water from bridges and rocks is forbidden by interdepartmental or municipal order.
For your security, never cross the buoy lines around the dams. EDF reminder: This lake is an artificial lake: the sloping and unstable banks, the depth of the water and the variations in the level of the reservoirs make access to the lake dangerous.
- Rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed, white water swimming, water trekking, cano-raft... Many white water activities are possible in the Verdon.
White water activities depend on the release of water from the dams located upstream from Castellane.
In July and August, they take place on Tuesdays and Fridays, subject to modification by EDF.

- In calm water: Pedal boats, electric boats, fun boats, catamarans, paddle boats, windsurfers, dinghies, canoes and kayaks: there are water sports centres and rental companies in Artignosc-sur-Verdon, Bauduen, Les Salles-sur-Verdon and Aiguines. Calm water activities can be practised on the lakes of Sainte-Croix and Artignosc-sur-Verdon as well as in the lower Gorges at Baudinard-sur-Verdon.

In the Canyon, the hikes are sporty and accessible only from 8 years old.
